Live Event Artist Services

What to Expect:

As a Live Event Artist, Elizabeth is hired to create a custom commissioned piece of artwork that preserves your special moment, as a part of your special moment. Guests are free to interact and take part in the creative process, adding an engaging and memorable form of entertainment to your event.

Elizabeth spends her time at your event finding the perfect composition for your final piece, sketching what she sees on her easel. Once the night is over, she will spend up to 6 months completing your piece in the studio.

The Final Product:

All packages include three small sketches created at your event, as well as the final product, a value drawing or oil painting.

Paintings will be completed in oils on a handmade panel canvas with a 1 3/4 inch cradle, protected by gloss varnish. Drawings will be completed in graphite pencil.

Please note your final piece is started at your event and finished in the art studio. See below for Commision tiers, explaining price point, scale, and complexity options.

Getting Started:

After submitting the Live Event Artist form, I will reach out to you through email and confirm availability. We will then schedule a meeting over the phone.

In this meeting we will thoroughly review the details of the event, discuss collector's preferences for the final piece, and I will provide a total quote. If you would like to proceed at this time, you will be required to sign a contract and provide 25% of the payment is required at this time to secure your date.

Two weeks prior to the event, I will contact you and we will review the contract again to confirm all information is correct, you can let me know of any last changes to commission preferences. I will then send you an invoice for the remaining 75% of the payment.

On the Day of Your Event:

I will arrive on site as early as possible and set up my easel in an agreed upon location. I have a clean and finished wooden easel and a small table for my materials. The materials I require to bring on site are minimal, including drawing paper, graphite pencils, and erasers.

I will begin my time on site by collecting reference photos. You will see me walking around the venue with my camera at this time, as well as during predetermined moments of your event. For subjects that are moment dependent, I require time to collect reference photos. This is in order to have enough visual information to work from to fully capture your moment and render it realistically.

I then return to my easel and start creating three different sketches. I will select my favorite composition out of the three and spend the remainder of my time on site elaborating details. By the end of your event, you will have a clear understanding of what the final piece will become.

Following to Your Event:

I will then continue to work on your piece and spend up to 3-6 months completing it in the studio. Once it is completed, on a date determined between us, I will hand deliver or professionally ship your commissioned artwork.

Please note that oil paintings require a substantial drying period before it is considered completed. As a requirement of the material, oil paint takes up to 6 months to dry before varnish can be applied and it’s ready for display.

Frames are not included.
